Our Story
Curriculum Connections is a family-owned homeschool enrichment program created by
educator and homeschool mom Dawn Setters-Sowles.
Dawn’s homeschooling journey began in the early 2000s when she struggled to find
an educational environment that could meet the needs of her bright and curious son, Gideon.
Through local homeschool co-ops, she discovered a love for teaching children
of different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
Drawing on her background in Early Childhood Education,
she opened Wellspring Learning Exchange in Sacramento, which grew to serve 52 students
through 25 enrichment classes taught by a team of 10 instructors.
Years later, as more families began exploring homeschooling, Dawn started helping parents
choose curriculum, prepare learning spaces, and understand the many ways homeschooling can work.
When she began homeschooling her youngest daughter, Aurora,
she once again saw the importance of providing homeschooled children with engaging classes,
meaningful friendships, and opportunities to learn together.
That vision became Curriculum Connections.
Today, we offer hands-on enrichment classes for homeschool families throughout El Dorado County.
Our programs are led by enthusiastic, qualified instructors who have completed background checks
and share a genuine love for teaching.
We also offer Christian classes through our Busy Bee-lievers program
for families seeking faith-based learning opportunities.
We believe children thrive when learning is engaging, relationships are encouraging, and families feel supported. We look forward to welcoming your family into our community!
