Service Description
Get ready to stir, squish, splash, and build in this hands-on, fun science class designed for curious young minds! Messy Science is an exciting journey through chemistry and engineering, where students will explore the “whys” and “wows” of science through colorful chemical reactions, fizzy explosions, gooey mixtures, and creative design challenges. Each week, students will dive into real-world science through kid-friendly experiments that encourage observation, prediction, and discovery. Whether they're making their own slime, testing how strong a structure can be, or launching mini rockets, your child will be learning foundational concepts in physical science, matter, forces, and motion—while having a blast! This class supports California Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for grades K–3, including: K-PS1-1: Investigate the properties of materials and how they can be changed. 1-PS4-1: Use tools and materials to design and build a device that uses light or sound. 2-PS1-2: Analyze how materials change when mixed, heated, or cooled. 3-PS2-1: Explore the effects of forces on the motion of objects. Engineering Design (K-2-ETS1-1 to ETS1-3): Ask questions, make models, and test solutions to solve simple problems. Whether your child is already a budding scientist or just starting to wonder about the world around them, this class is the perfect mix of play and learning. Come ready to get messy, think big, and love science!

Cancellation Policy
All payments and/or vouchers are due by the first class of the semester. If you need to make special payment arrangements an email request must be sent before the first class and is not considered approved until a confirmation email is sent back. If you need to cancel your enrollment and don't plan on attending any classes during the semester, your $20 registration fee will be reimbursed up to 1-week before the first day of the semester. All unused class fees will be reimbursed up to 24 hours before the first day of the semester, minus the non-returnable portion of your class fees that went toward class materials for your student. If a child needs to drop a class after the semester has begun, we can prorate their class fees up til the end of the third week. No class fees will be returned or prorated after the end of the 3rd week. If you're joining the class late, prorated policies are determined on a case-by-case basis, by each instructor.
