Service Description

Pack your compass and curiosity—it's time for an unforgettable journey around the world! In this class students will dive into the fascinating world of geography through hands-on activities, creative map-making, engaging games, and collaborative exploration. Designed to spark a love for the planet and its diverse people and places, this class invites students to become cartographers, navigators, and cultural detectives. Throughout this interactive course, students will: Master how to use map keys, legends, and cardinal directions Read and create their own maps with scale, symbols, and topographical details Explore major landforms, bodies of water, and other physical features around the globe Differentiate between ecosystems and understand how geography shapes them Use globes and atlases to investigate global relationships and spatial awareness Discover the social, cultural, and environmental dynamics of regions across the world Each lesson connects directly with California’s 4th–6th Grade Social Studies Standards, including: Geographic tools and spatial thinking (e.g., maps, globes, latitude/longitude) Human-environment interaction and regional characteristics Social, economic, and cultural features of local and global communities Relationships between physical geography and historical or societal development Through storytelling, team challenges, and creative projects, students will develop critical thinking skills, global awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the world they live in—all while checking the box for their social studies and geography learning requirements. This class is perfect for families seeking an enriching, standards-aligned geography program that makes learning truly come alive!

Cancellation Policy

All payments and/or vouchers are due by the first class of the semester. If you need to make special payment arrangements an email request must be sent before the first class and is not considered approved until a confirmation email is sent back. If you need to cancel your enrollment and don't plan on attending any classes during the semester, your $20 registration fee will be reimbursed up to 1-week before the first day of the semester. All unused class fees will be reimbursed up to 24 hours before the first day of the semester, minus the non-returnable portion of your class fees that went toward class materials for your student. If a child needs to drop a class after the semester has begun, we can prorate their class fees up til the end of the third week. No class fees will be returned or prorated after the end of the 3rd week. If you're joining the class late, prorated policies are determined on a case-by-case basis, by each instructor.
