Service Description
Phonics can be so fun if introduced in a non-intimidating way! This class is presented with a kinesthetic hands-on approach. Children will be given a basic lesson each week using music, art and games to help connect phonics with audio, visual and tactile concepts. These activities will also be presented using fun and familiar authors such as Dr. Seuss, Ross Burach, David Shannon, Lucille Colandro, Laura Joffe Numeroff and more! They will also have access to self-guided activities that promote problem solving for each phonic sound. This class will focus on the proper phonetic steps necessary for building tools for reading. We will begin each semester with individual student assessments and gradually move through phonetic concepts based on the overall class needs. Children will be introduced to sight & sound letter matching, consonants & vowels, silent E, syllables, CVC & CVCE words, digraphs, rhyming words, floss words, initial and final blends, vowel families and multisyllabic words. Cancellation Policy
All payments and/or vouchers are due by the first class of the semester. If you need to make special payment arrangements an email request must be sent before the first class and is not considered approved until a confirmation email is sent back. If you need to cancel your enrollment and don't plan on attending any classes during the semester, your $20 registration fee will be reimbursed up to 1-week before the first day of the semester. All unused class fees will be reimbursed up to 24 hours before the first day of the semester, minus the non-returnable portion of your class fees that went toward class materials for your student. If a child needs to drop a class after the semester has begun, we can prorate their class fees up til the end of the third week. No class fees will be returned or prorated after the end of the 3rd week. If you're joining the class late, prorated policies are determined on a case-by-case basis, by each instructor.
